Singin in the Rain: Good Mornin
Singin in the Rain gets its credit for giving us a song-and-dance go-to for rain but gets overlooked for the gift it also delivers for up-all-nighters.
I romanticize morning-people and love the concept of getting zero sleep over a stressful situation – collectively realizing it – and then not only not mutually agreeing to grumble off to rest but rather to put on an elaborate high-energy peppy performance on the topic. But the degrees to which they go… the lengths… the flair… it’s what I always hoped adult groups of friends would be like. Everyone is so in-tune and on board and like minded with each other. They’re of a hive mind as they grab props and telekinetically tip off the rest of the group as to their next action so that their movements flow in perfect unison as they tap dance their way through the mansion, stopping in spots to do mini-scenes that themselves tell their own unique story-within-a-sequence.
