Original Darkwing Duck Chase Scene Opening Theme

When the Disney Channel first aired Darkwing Duck in March 1991, they used a slightly different opening compared to the current version that’s been used for the Toon Disney airings, the DVDs and videos, the Disney Afternoon, etc. Instead of the more jazz-based theme that people were familiar with, they instead used a more rock-based theme song. Disney continued to use this theme until the show was moved to syndication as part of the Disney Afternoon in Fall 1991, afterwhich the current theme was used, and has been used since. The Disney DVD release of Volume 1 of Darkwing Duck boasts the inclusion of the pilot. Unfortunately, the pilot is the edited version from Toon Disney which is missing several scenes! Here is the first of those missing scenes, the original opening chase sequence, culled from the early 90’s VHS release of the uncut pilot.
